Ok some good news and some questions.
The LFS had African Mbuna's and all different sizes. I can definitely agree that the juveys would be a snack for the gar. But they had some really nice sized ones that i know the gar wouldnt even try to, they were way to big for him to eat. But i didnt purchase because i wanted to check on some things she told me. First i told her that i was told the yellows r females and blues r males, she had no idea of that. And started to show me you can tell on the bigger ones if they r males or females by the "egg spots" on their bottom fins, she says the males have a lot more of them whereas the females will only have 1 spot. I asked what type of setup do they like, she says they like rocks, caves, anything they can claim as their territory. I asked how many to 1 tank, she said the bigger the tank the more u can put in but it has a lot to do with if they r females or males. She says that if you r to put mostly males in the tank there is less agression. And for the most important question, for the bigger ones that i would be purchasing they were 20$ a piece is this a good price? She actually said they were on sale, they r normally 40$. They had a really nice albino one i really want to get too.
Thanks
Steve
