Very noob question.

I'm picking up a stingray tomorow. Was wondering how would I handle catching and releasing into my tank? What would be the safest way. Net? Tupperware box?

The container it comes In should be smaller than your tank. Like anything else I drip acclimate and just dump it in. Worked when I bought rays before, I wouldnt bother adding stress by catching them when not needed

Moroto Ray around 12" in diameter. So netting would fine? Then just dump in once acclimated to new tank.

Don't net unless it's made from rubber always a risk of barb getting caught

After aclimateing I would not just dump him/ her in there ...I personally would never add someone else's water to my tank under no circumstances....even someone that I know keeps there tank in great shape there's just that risk there that I'm not willing to take !

Thank you everyone for the input. Also, how is the growth rate on motoro? My tank is 6x3 footprint. How long can I have him/her in there? Right now he/she around 12"diameter.

I see. Thank you. I'm rescuing the stingray from someone. It's in a 150g tank atm. So I'm reading everything about them.
