Where eva theres Cichla!!!
hey guys,

I was just wondering if anyone has this problem....I feed my cichla feeders once a week as a 'treat' lately ive been buying the cheap non-coloured goldies, however they have been goin to waste, they maul em to death then leave em!! today i decided i'd go for some red comets and fair enuf as soon as they hit the water they were devoured, does anyone else have cichla with expensive taste??

i can tell you that mine like african ciclids babies 3 cm,4cm better than ta goldfish but in the morning when there really hungry how harder i throw in the silveside the harder they frenzy

i would say it from feeding him one kind for so long.. you have to make sure you varie there diet... plus goldfish arent that good for your fish

why whats wrong with them? when the summer comes ill catch minnows for them. but in the winter i had to grow m up with live food they wouldnt eat anything else and i thougt frozen silversides all the time isnt good either, thats the only thing besides live food that they eat right now there about 15 cm

gold fish are high in fat and they have no nutrients.. i was also told they hold a chemical in there flesh.. if you feed just goldfish your cichla will get HITH. you have to train your cichla to eat other foods. market shrimp, krill, pellets, minnows... if they are small black worms ect

Starve them for a little while, i did for a week one time now they don't take a chance they hit everything that hits the surface of the water including my fingers....LOL

silversides are goot but you have to make sure you give your cichla a varied diet.. its just like humans you need diff food everyday... you cant just eat chicken everyday.. you need green vegies, orange vegies, red vegies ect. HITH is hole in the head disiease some say its from bad water quality and goldfish .. i think its from lack of a good diet and variety. your have the ocellaris that i.d.ed for you correct? in my opinion i would say they are chubby ;) but most people like there cichla that way.. but i am a fan of the more natural shaped cichla
