I purchased a very nice 8 inch female marbled motoro from someone on here and here is my story. I picked it up from the airport brought it home did the drip acclamation for about 2.5 hours. The ray looked like it was doing ok breathing was not to fast, and i swam around a little bit. I went to sleep got up early in the morning excited to check her out and she looked good then too. Went to work came home and she was DEAD. What i want to know from you guys is what could have caused this. I know what im doing i have had rays for years but nothing like this has happened before. Very sad day for me i have been looking for a marbled female like this for a while now and she is gone.

There is no always a reason.
My guess would be the stress of the move.

Sorry for your loss, If your water all checked out fine (I am sure that was the first thing you did ) I can only assume it was stress :(

my water was perfect. I checked the water it came in right when i got it home with it and the ammonia was pretty high. I think that was it but not for sure.

I know everybody has their own methods that work for them but I am not a huge fan of long acclimation for that reason. I never really leave fish in a bag/box for more then 15-30 minutes as long as the temp and ph are close I figure they are much better off in the tank.

Sorry again for your loss don't let it keep you down

didnt have it long enough to get any pictures. Its in the deep freezer right now i might take it to to taxidermist and see if he can do something for me
