I've got 4 loaches, all are doing very well (active, eating etc.) but i've noticed that 1 and maybe another have not been growing and putting on weight like 2 others... After reading i have a sense the may be suffering from an Internal Parasite.
What can i do to help these guys out? I do have other fish in this tank.
Do i have to quarantine the loaches or can i keep the whole gang in one tank while treating possible IP?

any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks
Dre

Thanks for the info..
well i tried Parasite Guard and well i thought it was gonna work the little guy was eating like a pig but the i think he was just too far gone and passed last night.. He was my favorite has such nice markings and the orange color on him was very intense and strong...
I not only lost him but lost my Dwarf Gourami as well... now i've learned the hard way but a 3-5g tank, sponge filter, small heater and air pump are on my "get now list" before i introduce any new fish to my tank.

Sorry to hear of your loss
I have had one loach for 2.5 years and he came in a batch of five and he just will not grow.He is perfectly healthy always first up when the lid opens eats like a pig but just will not grow,Not sure if it is genetic or if he is just a runt. He has so much charecter and will not be pushed around by the bigger loaches

Sounds like some parasites to me... Remember most parasites don't try to kill their host, they need them to survive. So a healthy fish can seem fine and still have parasites.

i think some loaches grow slower than others i have one that is 2 years old and has glowing color, she grew from 1.5 to only3.5 maybe in 2 years i do not no if this is normal growth or not but the fish seems healthy 2 me. i am going to buy some food with garlic in it just in case .
