Vic question

I changed my 30g long over from SA to African tank Vic sp44.
I have a penguin 200, I wanted to add more filtration/water movement to the tank.
My LFS has the Emperor 280 on sale for $26 which seems like a good deal.
Would this be to much water movement with both running together?

I don't know about the 44's specifically, but I'm running a pair of emperor 400s and a magnum 350 (for polishing) on a 72 bowfront with Kyoga Flamebacks (which are similar to the sp. 44) in it and nobody seems to be too disturbed by the current.
