I'm not a Characin expert. I keep these as dithers for my pleco tanks so it doesn't look like I'm just soaking driftwood in empty tanks. I know some of these aren't Characins but they are all dithers to me.

Very nice group of fish.

Very impressive groups! I'm mildly obsessed with the L.Brunneus. Can you comment on their aggression? I'd love to get one or two in my monster comm as dithers/CUC.

L. Brunneus acts feisty like all Leporinus which may cause problems when they get big with smaller fish. I've had no problems for the year I've had them.

I wouldn't suggest any leporinus species to comm with bichirs... Or there cousins. May take your tigs trailers off too.

On paper, I'm sure the Aimara wasn't the best idea either but that's working out just fine haha

Lol if you asked me I'd say the aimara was a perfect suit for the bichirs, but leporinus can be pains, this is ime though, other people share similar experiences. But you may be the exception so go for it just be ready to separate him just in case. They are fast fish which makes them very daring
