Here is an interesting result form my blue gene Jack Dempsey breeding project. This group has distinctive coloring unlike my usual Electric Blues. These have pinkish ,gold and green along with some blue.

These may be throwbacks, variants or a genetic morph. What do you think? The Blue Headed Jack Dempsey is the most unusual of the group. There is one with blue tail. The others have variants of the theme. Leucistic or genetic phenotype ? Whatever it is certainly interesting. These guys are actually becoming quite attractive. Maybe I will try developing the Blue headed Jack Dempsey:) Rick

Interesting really

I'll admit, I clicked the link not expecting to see anything out of the ordinary... but the "Blue Headed Dempsey" was definitely a surprise.

It would be neat to explore the notion to see if it is a genetic quirk or if it is a genetic trait that will follow Mendelian Genetics. I don't personally find it attractive and do not see it becoming a popular morph (if it is in fact a morph) but it's really flipping interesting to say the least.

I think they have the potential of being very pretty and very popular if you can breed them consistently. How did you come up with this morph?

Nut:I think it is probably somewhat of a quirk but will perhpas follow through to see if the trait can be duplicated.
flowerpower: thanks for the oppinion, like most fish some will like them some will not. I really had little to do with the outcome of the morph except to breed back various generations of blue gene jack dempsey .
As the saying goes S##t happens!

Interesting. Should be fun seeing what happens with this. If you have extra that you would want to get rid of, I'd be interested in playing around with them as well.

some of them look sick some ehh like the one with the blue head
