kill.... im getting a bettaa tommrow

i was totally not expecting the betta to go after the convicts when i moved him. that convict pair are pretty mean, that's why i put them in my feeder tank, kept beating on my GT and Red-head. was even worried that they might mess up my giant betta's finnage. boy was i wrong.

figured the convict's would've mugged the betta.. but they don't call'em fightin fish for nothing !... totally cool that you don't have to put him in a glass tube in that tank, unless you want to protect the convict's lol..... hey I'LL role my managuense(6.5'') again's your betta?? :j/k: I don't support fish/dog fighting ban the deed not the breed's.....

First of all I DO NOT support fish fighting at all!!! For real

Bettas are not as hard core as most of you guys think because I've owned them for years and my uncles is a lunitic with them and sells them. They are a mad fish when dealing with another betta and always want to fight like pitbulls but are not always super aggressive with other species....IN A TANK. When they get attacted by a fish similiar in size the get scurred easily and then loose all the color and run. You can totally see how scared they are after a while when their ugly stripes show. I was suprise to see the betta attacking those convicts like that and going after them continueously. Most of the time bettas in a community tank only strike when another different specie fish is near or he feels threatened. Some bettas get scurred right away when transfering them from tank to tank.

Now the real hardcore bettas are the short tail ones but the ghetto ones at Petsmart. My uncle special orders them straight from Thailand, Cambodia, and vietnam, these guys are real killers. Never get scared and always have a deep color. My uncle and the older guys bet big time cash on fish fighting and I've seen with my own eyes that those special order ones are 3 times stronger and better. They have more power and the key ingrediant, their scales are like armor compared to the ones at the LFS. Those short tail (roundtails) will murder any fish in it's way so don't put those guys in a community fish tank.

That's my .002 cent but please don't bombard me with moral statements directly at me. I don't support that stuff just want to inform some people who are not fimiliar with Bettas.

Bueatiful huh.......it's a shame they are used for fighting.

I'm not all the suprised really, bettas can be nasty with other species... I have seen it. The convict is not even full grown, I was expecting an adult. Did the convicts have any fry at the time? I have seen convicts back out of fighting with other fish only to turn around and kill them once they had fry. My convicts attack my hand for god's sake, and they are only in the 2" range.

Those are plakats, and the ones they fight are usually black and darker colored. They can fight for hours, they are so tough. As for convicts they seem to be like chiuauhas(sp?), they are mean as hell but don't realize how big they are. :grinyes:
