nice combo, its cool they get along so well. my IT likes to duke it out with my psittacus

Are you saying your IT is the agressor? My tank is the other way around. Mr. Dovii is the king of the tank. He does what he wants, when he wants. He won't tolerate other cichlids in the tank...especially other Parachromis. I'm really happy I can get away with a few other fish in the tank. :)

Pretty cool combination you have there. I have never kept a dovii, but from what I have heard yours must be pretty mild mannered. From my experience, I always thought the amphilophus (festeas and red devils, etc) genus was the most aggressive. Should be really interesting as they both approach 18 inches. I look forward to updates in the future.

I'm pretty sure they'll have to separate before they get that big. There's two more 9-10" IT's in the tank too but they don't really come out that much with the tank lights on. With just the room lights on, all three beg for food side by side with the Dovii. He's definitely not mild mannered though. He thinks he owns the whole fish room most of the time and will glass-bang with the best of them. I try to avoid pissing him off (you know, like running my hand across the glass) 'cuz he turns into a maniac and I truly fear he could flood my house.
