Heres a video of my Pearl Blue Cherax Destructor! I raised it since birth, it eats shrimp pellets, Hikari Algae Waffers and the occasional feeder fish when she catches it lol. Anywhoo I was wondering if theres anything els I can feed it. I dont want my baby to get bored of what shes been eating. Any ideas folks? Heres the link to my beauty! Let me know what ya think! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yavq29r9NVU:headbang2

Very stout and majestic looking. Like it a lot. :)

I feed my prawn egg white custard, algae wafers and Hikari Crab Cuisine (they love that stuff). Not sure if crays need cholesterol like prawns but egg custard might be a good thing to feed.

I'd stay away from products with shrimp... just because there's an increase of WSSV in shrimp products (both processed and raw, for pet and human consumption) and that's fatal if contracted by a crayfish. But these guys will eat just about anything, they're active predators and omnivores so you can try a variety live feeders, fresh veggies, processed fish foods. I rotate out my foods with mine... feeders, blackworms, bloodworms, earthworms, pellets, live plants (hornwort and anacharis are favorites), fresh vegetables, etc.

Anyway, gorgeous crayfish! <3

contrary to popular belief, n the wild destructors eat more plant than animal matter. i feed mine frozen peas (soak them in water a few mins. you might have to poke a hole in them and smush them against the side of the tank to get them to sink), hikari algae wafers, hikari crab cuisine, nori, sometimes fresh tilapia, fish flakes, and blanched carrot pieces.

sometimes i'll use my blender and blend an egg, and fish food, peas, and all the above together. then poach it and cut it into squares.

Thank you soo much! I took some peas out of a bag of mixed frozen veggies. And my baby LOVES THEM!!! I'm going to try carrots tonight!
