Hmm. I'm from OC, never heard about this.
I eat meat and all of that, but I always feel bad for cephalopods being fished or eaten. Just because they are one of the most intelligent animals out there.

Those humboldt are awesome though.

Don't feel bad! You eat meat don't you?

These squid are slowly taking over the fishery and are expanding their range every year. Without fishing people fishing for them to reduce their numbers they will eat ALL the fish! Besides they are very cannibalistic and brutal! They've been known to attack divers and each other!
 
i agree they seem to be expanding they territory and getting bigger i dont know about you guys but id like to not have to worry about giant squid every time i go surfing so fish the heck out of them
