Hi everyone.
This is my frist post so take it easy on me. I thinking of setting up a tank for some Vieja Argentea. Need some info like size of tank, how fast do they grow, are they aggressive , any info would be help.

Thanks TOM A.

Im wondering the same thing,I havnt seen anyone keeping these or even in the shops.

The are really aggressive to conspifics. That means you're going to need a very large tank to house a breeding pair. I've got a small male right now at about 4" and he harasses everyone, but especially a V. regani (similar looking).

Growth will depend on tank size, water qualtiy, temperature, and feeding. Mine is growing at about 1" a month. Expect that or a bit slower.

I'd say you'll need an 8' tank to house a pair without a divider. With a divider, a 6' tank will do.

I agree with Modest Man, in a 150 gal my largest argentea killed the other 5 in the tank when he outgrew them at about 8 inches, and harassed anything else that looked even remotely similar, he grew to about 12". He was a great fish, but mean as you can get.
