Vieja bifasciatum and midas cichlid pairing?!? PICS

Right recently these two have been very close and have been going through ALL the spawning rituals, trouble is i need them sexed and also can these even produce fry?
Heres the pair cleaning and defending the slate

is the midas male or female?

And itd help if we had an exact ID/sex on 'Biffy'

Has this happened before? is it possible for these two to produce and would it be worth while clearing the tank of its residents?

yes your Bifas. and Midevil can and will produce viable fry, its hard to say but I'm thinking that the Midevil is the male

Still too hard for me to tell in these pix.
Can almost make out the vent on the Midevil but can't tell for sure.
All I know is that the babies will be very "round & bulky".

I get that this a 7 year old post but to me it looke like a red head cichlid
