Well yesterday i had abit of a shock, thought "right ill move that tank" so started it, got the fish out and starting dragging the half full tank. it was to heavy so i emptied the rest and moved it... then i thought ill clean the bits and bobs. got a urn out and my only egg laying fish had layed eggs!!!! which were clear at the time then went white when i couldnt help myself and have a look. well.... i know its the Vieja bifasciatus and the blood parrot as they have been digging pits together ect for a month or two now. so i was expecting this as some point, i think that hadnt been layed long as when i first pulled them out they were as clear as glass and then later turned white... i presume due to the massive water change and temperature drop.
the Vieja bifasciatus started attacking the parrot and refused to let it near the pot. then they swapped the parrot got in the pot and wouldnt let the Vieja bifasciatus near the eggs. my main question would be, as i think the parrot is the female. what are the tell tell signs of this as the Vieja bifasciatus seemed to guard the pot and the parrot was always in it. the Vieja bifasciatus dug the pit though i caught the parrot joining in to... the parrots "bits" seem to be slightly pertruding at the moment to.

The video is about 2/3 days before egg laying
PLEASE NOTE THE EGGS WERE CLEAR WHEN I FIRST FOUND THEM AND LATER TURNED WHITE ABOUT 10 MINS BEFORE THESE PHOTOS AS I HAD TO PUT THEM INTO A BUCKET AND I THINK THE TEMPRETURE CHANGE KILLED THESE FRESHLY LAYED EGGS
which one would likley be the female? and which male? anyone can tell by the pictures of the eggs? and how likley are they to breed?? or "egg lay"
thanks
