NYC
One of my favorite fish in my collection. Another Jeff Rapps fish, this guy grew from the size of a medium sized NYC cockroach to the beefy 13" that he is today in just about a year and a few months. Full of attitude and character, he is kept alone (except for a fairly ragged pleco who has the misfortune of being his tankmate).

MY FAVORITE ! This and your 15 inch Haplochromis ! I would make space for this fish
anytime! The colors are just amazing.

Thanks, Wes. This guy will never be for sale - I love him too much. :)

what specie is this 15" hap?

if that bifas grew 13" from 5" in a year, then this is definitely a larger fish specie than I thought.

I think Wes is referring to my large male Buccochromis rhoadesii. He's in the 13" range, I think. Don't think he's 15". :)

piranha45 - where do you get that a "medium sized NYC cockroach" is 5"? I notice that you're from Texas, and I know the cockroaches are enormous there, so your perception is obviously a little skewed. He was a mere 2.5" when I got him. Grew to 13" in about 14-15 months. On a strictly herbivorous diet, no less. :)
