I have a ~6-7 in Male in a 2 foot x 3.5 foot~ tank,
I was also thinking he might be lonley,
so I was thinking of putting in one of my 3 in female blood parrots.
Opinions?

Are vieja into blood parrots?

Also
Does anybody know the wild diet of Vieja Fenestratus?

he dosen't seem to enjoy eating anything I give him that much.

My fene is the most aggressive fish I have ever owned. Keep in mind ive had several big flowerhorns in the past. Their not really glass bangers, But if they see conspecific traits or a weak fish they dominate. Thats why mine has a solo tank and will stay that way. Very intellagent fish ive noticed.
You should try to keep his staple something heavy in veg and not much protein. Lots of Omega one veggie pellets or Hikari Excel or NLS low protein foods. Some protein is good, but definatly keep him supplied with veg.

I think Fene X Bp would create some low grade RBK. Your bound to get a few keepers, But nothing great. If you get a quality female FH you could create some decent RBK.

For BP, I am not sure of. But as far as KKP and Red Mammon goes, there are reports of a Vieja and a Severum bred in it. If your planning to breed a Vieja with a BP, you may get some weird looking offspring, and if cross multiple generations then I hope you have a nice RBK. Although RBK are generally Synsplilum and KKP/Red Mammon.

One thing, keep in mind that RBK has no flowerhorn in it whatsoever. All selective/cross breeding of Vieja X KKP/Red Mammon.

Cool thanks guys. the reason I'm wondering is that I already tried with my female flowerhorn, twice on two seprate occasions in two different tanks. Suffice to say, it didn't work either time. And for the reasons fishingout mentioned; my Female's a killer and he didn't want her around.

The reason I'd mention blood parrot is that I've paired midas/rd with them on several occasions, and It's worked beautifly every time, I believe because of male cichlids' attraction to 'plump' females (I guess given the correlation to fecundity this usually sugessts) along with the added bonus that a bp can't really fight so its totally up to the male to decide wheter its going to work or not. Usually when he decides that he wants to (and the male has for me 100% of the time when they're the same colour), there are very few if any fights after.
Its for these reasons that I'd want to pair him with a parrot.

in regard to your comments BIG_ONE, thanks for the info I didn't realize that about RBK. I do have several fish that are the result of a similar pairing, and the ones that didn't turn yellow are stunning parrots. I actually believe though that they are a cross of (Syn x BP)x(bpxmidas). I have an old post that has pictures of the best one if you search my posts, he's a fader though.

BIG_ONE:
Thanx for your comments, and I might try this. I personally think fene looks better than synspi, so I'm considering trying it with a KKP or Mammon.

What size female would you suggest I try it with,
and what size tank?

When I upgrade my fene's tank I'll probably get some KKP, but for breeding
what setup would you suggest?
I'm thinking
one male with multiple females in a large tank
or
Divider method
or
Single pair

Which one of these do you think would be best?
Also, where could I find good quality, proven (or at least fertile) KKP females?
I live in Oklahoma.

Thanks for your help. It'd be fun to get some RBK babies sometime soon

Good luck finding a mammon unless you order straight off from Happy Breeding Farm. Prepare to shed at least $400(this doesn't include shipping) and the fish comes with a certified paper of the fish being legit.

If I was to do that project, I would find one nice female KKP and use the divider method to try and get them to breed. BP/KKP is willing to breed with any fish out there, one main reason why they are famous for the use of "fertility" test in flowerhorn. You don't even have to use a divider, if your male is really calm with females then you can just throw it in there and you will soon get your frys guarantee...if its a female BP/KKP/Mammon. :D

Cool yeah
thats consistant with my exp. of parrot females.

KKP are hard to find around here, thats why I'm trying to get them from my BP's and Red males
but I ocassionally find them online

I see you're in ca
Have you seen the "kkp" (supposedly) that they have at petzone in san diego?
They said they would ship to me, but It'd be expensive

Do you think they have any nice females?

The ones from PetZone aren't that great IMO. Even my LFS carries better KKP female from time to time(but these are top notch female - and they run around $50 and up). You might as well buy off from someone in Flowerhorncraze for a really decent KKP and well worth the money. To be honest, I never really like any flowerhorn or KKP coming from PetZone. I think they are over priced fish for the quality...;)
