If your from a bigger city (houston) I wouldn't expect to pay more than around for a smaller one $25. They are kind of hard to find around me. Being specific with sex and size probably harder to find. Are you looking at one at a lfs? or online? tangledupincichlids.com probably has them in. If the lfs has one you like you can always offer a price, never hurts works for me sometimes just because most people come in to fill up their community tanks.

i was looking at one on a local forum. its 9" but he wants $70. i felt like it was too much but just wanted to make sure. maybe ill try and trade him my temensis and oscar.
