Anyone keeping these guys. Me and a few friends just went together on a Rapps order and one of them got a pair of these guys. We can't seem to find any good info on them other then several people claim they are not real aggressive. He was hoping to put them in a 75g for life. Does anyone know size info or any special care?

Thanks,
jgentry

that sites a bit dodgy with the tank sizes, at least the tank sizes are on the larger side which is unusual but they are way exaggerated. a 200cm aquarium for a GT, a 150cm for a FM and a 140cm for a blue acara as a few examples, a tad much.

a search here: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/search.php?searchid=3980209 but also google the name you might get some good results.

Thats what I did, Google... LOL I didn't really read the info before I posted. Just thought it would be helpful.

Well hopefully the 9inch info I found was correct. I was able to find a few postes about them but not much info. Apparently the are pretty calm for a Vieja and don't have any real special requirements. I'll try to get some pics of them in his tank tommorrow night. They should be here tommorrow morning around 9.

Thanks

I'm keeping a pair at the moment. It's still early days to make a judgement on their behaviour. I've noticed the male fish has started to defend a bit of territory, so perhaps they're not too mild mannered. The largest fish is 5", here's a video of the pair. This video was taken about 2 days after they were introduced.

They have some wonderful colours on them, well worth keeping IMO.

i have one from rapps, its an amazing looking fish, colors are intense, it eats like a pig and is big and fat but not really growing too much in length, prob around the 6" mark

I have one from Rapps and i love it, minds its own bussiness but can also hold its own when necessary. its still only about 3- 4 inches and is in a 125g tank with a ebjd, bocurti, salvini, and a hartwegi(which im looking to sell, just much bigger than all the others) oh and im thinking of adding a multispina to the tank
