I bought this fish as an unlabeled trade in fish from a LFS. I post for ID of this fish a few months ago, and the verdict was that it is a Vieja fenestratus, not a Zonata, Hawtwegi or something else. Is the verdict still correct?

The fish in the first pic was 4 inch still carrying the vertical stripes. In the second pic, the fish has grown to 7 inch with the vertical stripes gone and appearance of a small hump, so it appears to be a male.

Looks Bifa/syn, imo. Nice looking fish.

Man, I don't know what that fish is other than friggin awesome! I see characteristics of several vieja in there - bifa or syn for the dark patches in the upperhalf of the body, also syn for the yellow/gold portion. Hartwegi/fenestratus for the red face. It also has ALOT of blue in it...I'm stumped. I would say hybrid, or a really nice hartwegi. Regardless, I'd take it in a second.

Red/Blue Fenestratus. Good looking fish.

No over bite not Hartwegi
Missing orange not bifaciatius
No yellow not Syns
Not hybrid in my not so expert opinion

it's definitely a Fenestratus, but it looks a little different than most I've seen. Has a bit more yellow up top than most imo

Really gorgeous fish for a LFS find though, good find. It honestly looks better than most of my F1 ordered Vieja. What's the aggression like on this guy?

There is no yellow at all, just the lighting. He is not aggressive at all, but there are two other fish, a sysnpillum and a Green Terror, that are bigger than him.

Red/Blue Fenestratus. Good looking fish.

I like your deductive conclusion and you convince me best that I have a fenestratus.
