this little guy (about 2 inches) was getting beat on at the LFS (note the torn anal fins)....in the process of giving him his own tank....or her own tank. The fish guy says it's some kind of vieja...and he thought heterospilus???....but then he's a flake, and also my brother in law....ANYWAY..... Any Vieja experts? Note the red fringing on top of it's dorsal fin? Maybe not a vieja at all? Would not surprise me. haha....anyway....thanks in advance.

At 2 inches they all look the same. It's not Argentea. It's not Regani or breidohri. It's not a Bifa. Not a Sunspilum. So, I'd guess a Fenestratus. MAY be Zonatus. Or hybrid. I think it's vieja though.

To me they all are really similar when small.
I was gonna guess regani but probably wrong.

Heres my heterospilus
