I have a synspilum and mine doesn't have all that green, maby its from a different region? here is my syn.( on left of course)

It's all the sun light brings out great coloration plus all the live food.

Synsillum is a very varied species as far as coloring goes.
It is thought that the yellow melanurus , and synsillum are basically the same species, simply color variants of each other, and DNA testing agrees.
And because the scientific name melanurus was given first (Gunther 1862), it will replace the junior synonym synsillum (Hubbs 1935).
