Synsillum is a very varied species as far as coloring goes.
It is thought that the yellow melanurus , and synsillum are basically the same species, simply color variants of each other, and DNA testing agrees.
And because the scientific name melanurus was given first (Gunther 1862), it will replace the junior synonym synsillum (Hubbs 1935).
