Hi,

I just bought a trio Viejas from a private guy.
He told me that the are wild caught Vieja melanurus .
Can anybody confirm this?
They are a little bit agressiv to each other and my other fishes.
They even bite my 25 inches channa Marulioides and my arowana from time to time.
I am not sure if i should keep or sell them again.
Are this viejas rare?
Thanks for your help.

well they are certainly viejas, I don't think they are terribly rare. Maybe they are, Im not 100% sure. They sure are nice though.

Depending on your location these are either rare or not.

that is actually in all reality trying to make a fish sound and seem rare. I don't care what a person says if the fish is from NY or from TX, it's still that type of fish.

Is the fish on the first picture a male or a female.
The guy told me there are two females and one male.
I think i have two males and one female.
Will this work for the Future?
The pictures i got before shipping were realy bad so it was a gamble.

I would believe him. He knows about wild caught and to mention it that means he's a bit knowledgable and them fish look nothing out of Melanarus and they look in great shape and thick. I think he appreciated them until they had to go.

Will the colours get better when they grow?
He is breeding flower horns and citrinellum.
But he couldnt say who the importer was.
So it was a little bit weird.
