I currently have 5 of these at around 1 inch in a 90 gallon growout tank but will be trasnferred to a 330 gallon within a year from now. I know these are fast growers but whats usually the growth rate on these each month. I do about 4 small feedings a day with daily to bi daily 50 to 75 percent water changes. I would think about half an inch per month would be pretty standard but correct me if im wrong. They are growing out with some true parrots, cryptohero sajicas, geophagus winemilleris, and gymnogeopahgus balzanii all right around the 1 inch mark at most. Most of the fish are under 1 inch. Just trying to get a rough estimate for when I'll have to move these fish to their larger tank. The geos, gymnos, and true parrots will be going in their own 180 gallon corner wall tank and the viejas and sajicas will be going in the 330 gallon. I'll most likely be downsizing some of the stock and keeping mostly males. Thanks for all the help and advice.

Mine were packing close to 3/4's to a full inch a month. My dominant one went from 1 inch fry to eight inches in just over 6 months.

It's the length, but also the width and height that they pack on so quick. They go from cool little 2-3 inch fish to 6 inch adolescent, problem-in-a-small-tank, type fish in a couple weeks it seems like. They outgrow all the Vieja I've ever kept--except for Zonatus. Zonatus grow even faster.

I can't really put a length per month type rate on it because I just don't measure fish too often. But they'll definitely outgrow all the other fish in that tank, and make it very crowded. Just throw 'em in the 300 gallon right now.
