I bought this guy from a local LFS about 7 years ago when he was a couple of inches long with no idea what species he was. He’s now 12 inches plus and has been living as the solo cichlid in a 6 foot tank. I say he, as I believe he is a male, but I still do not know exactly what species he is despite me guessing at a bifasciatus or a hybrid, I even thought for a while whilst he was growing out he could be a synspilus but leaning toward bifa now. I wonder if anyone is able to give me an ID?
He has been such a great pet over the last 7 years with bags of personality so it doesn’t make the blindest bit of difference to me if he is a hybrid or he can be identified but I’d really appreciate any help in ID’ing him.
