Anyone have any pics they could share it'll their synspilum from Dan at cichlids of the America's? Just would like to get an idea what they look like before deciding to order a few. Are rather mostly blue and red or do they have the blue and red bodies with the yellow fins? Or what color morph are they? I believe they're his belize red heads but just want to get an idea what the colors are on these guys since I'm looking for a specific kind. Thanks

I'd advise you get a group, and grow em all completely out. I've had several from different sources, and they vary a lot. Some turn out looking like footballs, others kinda lean. Some get a hump on their head, some don't. Some are very late bloomers, some stay drab.

Get a group and wait to see how they turn out. They vary a lot.

Which also means get a big tank, or several 125's. They do live together pretty well though.

I got a 4" TL from COTA in June, 2016 listed at a "Belize Synspilum". The first pic was shortly after arrival. I don't know the sex, but it is now 6.5-7"s TL - the next three pics are of it now. I like it a lot and it has been healthy from the beginning. I can't compare it to other Synspilum - I've only had Melanurus by accident, trying to get Synspilum. Good luck w/ whatever you decide to do. Synspilum 4 inch.JPG Synspilum 1 3-26-2017.JPG Synspilum 2 3-26-2017.JPG Synspilum 3 2-26-2017.JPG
