so i went to the lfs again and wanted to buy the fish but the guy wanted to sell the fish for around $70 for a pair which is quite expensive. so i decided to buy a smaller one for around $15. the lfs called it red pearl cichlid which is complete nonsense :screwy:

its around 2.5". i would like to know if its a vieja synspilum. the tail and fins are orange and the flowers on its body does not arrive till the gills. there are some random pearls on its body

it seems alittle too young to identify but high chance that it may be a bifas. These vieja spieces are so rare in my country these days

hmm but how to tell the differences between synspilum and bisfiaciatus?
I think the easiest way is to use google images and search for both of them and then look at the differences.

Gut feeling says its not a snyp. Not sure what it is. If you can provide a more clear picture, maybe that will help.

I know my synspilum is a bit bigger in the pic but it had the obvious red head coloring when i got it

an update after 7 weeks. the little guy turned out pretty good than expected. though i now doubt its a synspilum but doesnt look much like bifasciata. maybe a hybrid? anyone?
