I've never kept any Vieja species before. Just wondering what kind of tankmates would be good. I was thinking of adding possibly a JD, Texas, a Cuban and maybe a couple other fish down the road. I really miss my midas, could I get away with adding any type of amphilophus to the mix. Tank is a 6x2x2 180g.

You could try it. Its going to be trial and error. I not sure about cuban's but I never see any in a community for whatever reason

Yea, put another Midas in there with him--I did it, they don't even notice each other. Or, you could do Argentea, Blackbelt, Bifa's would be a real good fit temperament wise. Syn's grow fast, pretty mild, good to have a Syn as the biggest fish in the tank.

They kinda get whooped if they're smaller or same size as mean fish--like a Midas.

You could ad All kinds of vieja species into you 180g. No problem at all.
you should put them at same time when all are juvenile and you raise them up together.
