I was wondering if a dovii and a synspillum have ever been crossed? and if it is even possible? i was thinking about it and i do have a male dovii and a female synspilum and wondered if i tried to get them to breed if they would? ive crossed managuases with doviis and red devils with synspilums just ive never raised any of the fry. It just seems like a project i should try out in the future

Ill have to look into breeding mine or atleast trying, i also had a thought, has anyone ever bred a festae with a green terror? i think that color mix would be legit, but idk it all depends on the genes

Ive seen green terror x convict but i have a convict x severum as well so it might just be because convicts have such a strong and diverse genome/ gts may not be able to cross with anything else as i think severums cant either.
Usually introducing variable species dosen't work ime 1 on 1, unless the fish are the same colour eg a red devil and a parrot or a texas and a jack.
Vieja and Dovii are so different it may only work if you kept them together in a community and created a power structure where the female would benefit from mating with the male (eg the male is dominant and there are competitors for her position)
However loselli at least live in the same bodies of water as vieja and they have never hybridized. They could have natural prejudices against eachother coming from the same area

The only reason my veja is breeding with my red devil is bc i paired them up in a 90 before i moved them into the big tank my dovii and buttakofri work together to keep the pair in theyre place
Oh and i didnt see this on there but i have heard of green terrors spawning with flowerhorns in my area the guy did get fry im not sure if he purposly did it but the guy at my local fish store wouldnt take the pair of cichlids or the fry so the guy just dumped them i guess im not sure on the hole story the local fish store owner doesnt own it anymore he sold it so i cant get any info bout it
You mean that blue acara that everyone thought was GT X con?
At least 2 people here have synspilum X jaguar. I think their names are GeenTerra and candle.
