its a hybrid because the front of the body screams aregnteana, and the back half could be any other vieja
ive had him seen bout 2 inches an he looked like a red head bout since the last 4 months he changed in what u see is what u get
as a younger fish he had red head/shoulder? looks good,but could be a hybrid,any more photos? it seems syns/melanurus do vary alot in patterns
yeah but the "redhead" I got was a Bifa. it seems most vieja in LFS are just named "red head cichlid" or Synspilum cichlid.
it definately looks like a Hybrid, its kind of cool actually. how is the behaviour?
can I add, yes redheads vary a lot in colouration but all have at least SOME red on their heads, as the name suggests, yours as a mature adult has none, so I would doubt it is a Redhead.
