I have about 8 to 10 inch vieja sp in my 125 with a school of wide bar silver dollars. She is great overall, but when it comes time to feed the silver dollars seem to intimidate her with their aggressive feeding. As a result she is not feeding as well as I would like. Do you think it would help to add another cichlid in there with her? Or just time? Thanks

I was leaning more towards a GT. Think that would be ok?

How long has it been in the tank?
I'd just give it some time myself

I agree

You may be able to add more if you want though, personally id add smaller fish than the one you have, 4-6" or a mate. If i add fish to my tank i use this method and the fish dont compete/fight for dominance. The smaller will avoid the bigger and as they grow larger the fish will be used to each other.

I have several viejas (my fav) and some non veija try to keep only males in my comm tank so they dont try to breed but i currently have a few females and pairs moving soon.
Viejas-
2 -male hartwegi /8-9"
1 -male zonatus 10"
1 -male synsp. 5" recently added
1 -male breidohri 6" recently added
And about 6 other non viejas

Be careful with what and how many you add unless you want to upgr in the future

I think she has been in the tank for about a month. I only want to add one GT. After that the tank has more or less hit its limit.
