I own only 2 viejas and they happen to be male and female. The female is a vieja heterospilus and the male is a black belt. I hope they breed, will post pics later, any guesses on the looks? First time spawn between the two. Also might have a trimac and texas cross.

Yeah, those fry would just look like vieja with a muddier black belt on their body than a pure maculicauda. And a Texas/Trimac probably wouldn't bee too much of a stunner either. You'd probably get a bunch of pearlless fish with the Texas' grey body color and the trimac's body shape. If it's anything like crossing my old Texas and BP, the pearl gene isn't very strong, so many fry don't have much pearling. Also, what's your plan for all these fry? People typically don't have an easy time getting rid of large batches of low grade fry. What do you do with 400+ unremarkable fish?

I think I'll seperate the males from the females, But if I did let them breed I would put them in a 30 gallon for a while, then sell them to lfs, What would you suggest I cross?

No no no! That's one of the main reasons that hybridizing fishes is frowned upon, because people irresponsibly breed fish and just sell all the fry to the LFS, for unknowing hobbyists to purchase as "pure" fish. Bad deal!

don't breed such similar species, you don't want someone to acquire the fry and continue to sell them off eventually as pure...that's why it is getting harder to get pure specimens of some of the more uncommon species

Is that Black Belt full sized?
