Hey all - I am looking to build a 96"L x 35"W x 30"H or 96"L x 35"W x 36"H plywood aquarium - and I'm trying to work out the viewing panel. Just looking to do the front and not the sides. It's my first time building one so excuse the ignorance.
My first question is what size viewing panel should I do with the size of plywood aquarium I am building? I was thinking 84" x 24" - but not sure if that works or not.
My second question is, what thickness would I want the glass to be? Here where I live - I seem to be only able to find suppliers that sell up to 12mm thick and nothing above 12mm thick glass. I was thinking the viewing panel would be made of tempered glass to make the building easier than having to put holes and fasten acrylic to the tank but correct me if I'm wrong. I'm also not sure what thickness of acrylic I would use anyway if I went that route.
