Hey ppl, hope ya all doing good and so are your fishies.. i've been planning an arowana pond.. well more of a above ground tank.. more like this http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=325084 . I've been discussing with david on this and he has been very helpful.

I had planned on a tank roughly around 19'X10'X4'. Now the biggest problem is my dad.. well its his house and he has to give me the space :). he thinks its gonna be maintenance intensive in the long run.. I do agree with him. now what can i get away with.. i've asked a minimum 12'X10'X4'. now this tank will hold 4 Silver Arowanas, 1 RTC and 2 Pacu.. I had planned on putting in my 4 Oscars in there but i'm slightly terrified about my RTC thinking they are his food.. well in that case i'm praying he wont go after my aros..

I've added some pics to show the place we zeroed on..

Good luck with your build. The garden looks the sweet as well. Make sure you document your build so I can steal ideas of you for when I build mine.

:) will def do byron.. thats only one part of the garden.. my meano dad.. jk.. wouldn't let me do it elsewhere.. :grinno: you are most welcome to steal ideas.. do have a look at the link in my first post.. thats one heck of a pond.. very simple but effective..

Wow I just had a look at the link in your post omg that was the bomb.it is my dream pond I love the glass it's so cool.I better start saving money now to build that thing :)

I had an outdoor arowana pond that was 10x4x2 for a while, it wasnt above ground though-
the only major problem I had was jumping, I lost some very good fish that way- unlike indoors, there is alot of food above the fish for them to jump for, especially with a tree above the pond- just something for you to consider in your build

I think it's an important thing to consider, to fence up with netting so that any jumping aro would fall back into the pond.

Do keep us updated on your pond development.

oh yes thats very true.. i'd go mental with all the leaves falling into the water first and cleaning them would be the next biggest chore.. i've planned a roof above the tank, something like this..
