Violet goby question

Has anybody ever kept their Violet goby in SW? I think it would be interesting if someone did an experiment to see if Violet gobies did better in SW or brackish...
I keep hearing people say that they are strictly brackish, but what if they did better in SW and we had been doing the wrong thing the whole time? Anybody have any thoughts on this?

Mine are in brackish. Someone else here has theirs in saltwater.
