Hello MFK!!!,

I recently got my Violet Goby, Gobioides broussonnetii, and i was wondering what can be done to encourage him to shift the sand? From what i've read in the wild the would normal shift sand or mud, so i was wondering how i could get mine to do this too. Im all for him feeding naturally. As of right now he is in an 80 gallon brackish tank with 4 black mollies, and my substrate is fine sand. Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated.

He'll do it if and when needed. I used to feed mine frozen brine when small and graduated to small pieces of shrimp and fish when bigger.

yea as of right now i feed him frozen worms and he loves them, i also crush up some algae waffers and freeze dried shrimp with it. he loves it, but i would love it if he were to shift the sand. also mine seems to hide all day except for when i feed him, thats normal too right? or will he eventually come out more after some time in the tank?

He'll get more used to the tank but mine did hide a lot.
