Visit to Fishtown USA in Queens today

Had to drive mom to her docs in Bayside, stopped in for a qwik view of tanks on sale, discus (limited selection) & saltwater. haven't been there in 4yrs!

dang! 72BF package deal was $900 (just tank/stand/glass/lite was $700)! I paid $200 for my set up off CL!

& I always fall in love with their S/W set up. a shark & ray tank look almost affordable! kool!

alas, had to pick up mom from the docs to go home.

but it was a nice stop over.

if your ever on the island stop in at Country Critters place is sick
3500 gallon shark tank as well as a pond with some airapiamas and red tail cats huge selection in fresh and salt and superrr rare fish

yeah, wish I had time to take pics with my fone but mom was a waiting. so had to take a visual for my memory bank.

I don't have any spots to frequent except petsmart up where I live & when I'm in the city I gravitate to petco at union sq.

back in the days (say 10-15yrs ago) I used to go the Plant Shed on 96th st. uws. it had a main plant store but upstairs was where the fish hung out. interesting fish, was considering S/W but didn't. drove by there few weeks ago, gone - guess hi rents drives out businesses.

Plant Shed is still there, no fish though. Never knew that they had fish in there.

Yeah, they have a nice selection, but go a little overboard on their prices. They have a nice selection of plants also.

used to live in flushing queens. hung out in city a lot when I was single (after divorcing), played a lot of vball uws & to bars afterwards (the good ole days!)

wow, so others know of the plant shed. yep, long time ago they had fish, not well kept place but I was fascinated by their collection.

a lot of the old time LFS' gone by the way side. nostalgia

any one remember Ed's Aquarium in Forest Hills/Rego Park?
the dingy place downtown between duane & reade & bwy & church?
the shark aquarium on rte 23 in nj?
