Stumbled upon a conversation about fish TB and one of the methods were to use Vitamin C towards treatment as well as B6, so naturally I googled. Did not even hit good results on this method For the information however discovered that people are using VITAMIN C for water changes! (Along with UV light water treatment)

Anyone use those products instead of seachem prime/safe etc?

I really don’t want to be changing up my water change regimen with seachem safe. It’s economical and safe right now for me to be continuing to use it however where do people get vitamin C its water soluble so whatever form it is in would work in theory? I’m not a chemist.

What other uses do people use Vitamin C for? What brand is trustworthy if I am dosing my Tanks with vitamins I’m worried about running the risk of overdosing.

So you can use Vitamin C tablets from the grocery store.

"...tablets purchased in a grocery store, crushed and mixed in with the bath water..."

"About 1000mg of Vitamin C is required to neutralize 50 gallons of water with 1ppm. For chloramines, a contact time of at least 4-8 minutes is required"

So if you know the chloramine concentration of your tap water, you will have to prefill another container like a brute trash can, and have it circulate in the water with the appropriate Vitamin C dosage. It's not as instantaneous as the water conditioners that we use, so I wouldn't put it directly into your tank.
