I was wondering if anybody uses Vita-chem in there cichlid tanks? I am dealing with my 1st case of Lateral Line disease on a RD/midas. I dont think it can be blamed on his diet since he eats 6 different kinds of pellets, FD krill, and occaitionally cooked shrimp, beefheart, mealworms and earthworms.
I have always done a 30-40% water change every 6-9 days and have never seen any ammonia or nitrite. I do use 1t-spoon of salt/2.5g. on may CA tanks . I also use bio chem zorb in my XP1, it just seems to make the water sparkle, and I smoke-too much.
I added a half dose to my T pasiones/C nanoluteus growout tank and they started to eat it to the point where they were fighting over it.
Does the lateral line ever heal or is he stuck with it? Since this picture was taken ( about 2 months ago) it hasnt gotten any worse.
