I want to start soaking my prawns/smelts so my Rays are getting all the vitamins they might not be getting from there food. I tried searching on the site but it's not working for some reason. I'm looking for good soaking vitamins/how much/how often. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Boyd brand vitachem. I inject with hypodermic needles into the thawed food. I found soaking seemed to lose a lot of the product before they would actually swallow it. I supplement twice a week. If they eat pellets weekly is OK. If they don't eat pellets then supplement more often.

I give them pellets all the time. I never thought about possible vitamins in the pellets. Carvivour sinking is what they get.

Then maybe just supplement when feeding foods that contain thiaminaise. Shrimp, smelt, etc.

I don't see a point in soaking the pellets as they're already fortified.

I wouldn't worry about vitamins so much. I would just give them a varied diet consisting of whole fish, clams, mussels, prawn, etc.. My feelings are when you feed them a "whole" unit, you will be giving them their proper vitamins and nutrient vs. giving them something like a headless gutted smelt. I like to feed whole units because they will be getting the heart, liver, brains, well you get the picture..
