I'm thinking of getting a Vittata for my 150 gallon tank that currently houses a 11" male GT, 8-9" female Bleekeri and a 10" Male Lyonsi.

I've done a search here and there is a little info but I need more. I see that they are a more "peaceful" pike that grows to 12-14"....true?. Which are better looking, the males or females?

If you have kept these pikes what did you keep them with and in what size tanks.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Here is a helpful link that should provide a little bit more detailed information for yaz:

Vittata are great pikes, and its reported that they might actually be some of the largest pikes. Not many people keep them, so most in the aquaria are below 14". Awesome personalities, almost recommend them as a community fish, but that would be pushing it. They are very much so predators, and very good at it. I'm assuming you'll be gettin yours from Rapps, which means the best one for you to get would be the 5 to 7" ones, as they are a good bit larger.

I'd be a little concerned about the other fish pickin on it at first, but if it gets time to settle in properly I don't see why it couldn't work.

Generally speaking females are more attractive then males in pikes, just the way it is. Not sure about vittata though. There may not be very much distinguishing features between the males and females. Might as well attempt to get a pair huh? :D
