I just picked up a 6" vittatus on an impulse buy and now I am wondering how it will do with my tank mates. It is in my 230 growout for now as it's too small for my 450 gallon and it will eventually go into a 520 gallon when it's done. It is in the 230 gallon with an 8" RTG arowana,4 orino pbass,3 red neck severums,L330 pleco and and 5" armatus. What kind of problems do you think could arise with this combo?

His slender body vs The growth of an Armatus is one. RTG temper is 2 and the Orino aggression could easily be first... but thats what "Making Combo's" is all about.

G/L, hope it works out for ya!

Eventually it will be with rays but that will be way down the road after it gets some size on it.

It was a wuss and was chased around by my RTG and orinos so I had to put it in the 90 gallon as it kept crashing into everything when it was being chased. LOL Bad investment on my part I guess. It will only get worse as pbass and arowana will grow faster then the vittatus and it will keep being chased or eventually eaten! Oh well can't say I didn't try a Vittatus.

mine is smaller and has proven to hang with fishes his size i have him with a pair of sabertooths a dat.. so far he is the boss from time to time i also think it was a B.A.D. investment he look awesome do

I currently have a new 3" vittatus as well and he is kept with my 4" scomb. I have a Aro and a yellow tail bar in there with him. They all get along fine but I agree with previously said, payara only a inch bigger eating our tigers. Its a scarey fact. So I usually try to load my tiger and progress the growth in him so he isn't the most expensive dinner I ever bought for my fish. The way my payara looks at him is a curiosity I don't want to realize. I'm looking at giving up my scomb to another tank, giving it a month, and then putting in a 3 inch armatus.

You can sell me your armatus! Problem solved! ;) located in toronto :D you know you wanna
