setting up a 50 gal vivarium atm , was thinking of a sp fire n ice to inhabit it ,

problems i facing is i worried that it might jump into the land area , any feedbacks or ideas ?

wouldnt give the snakehead much room to move around in (depending on how much land/water ratio) and the snakehead will likly jump out and injure himself, if the swimming area is small this is even more likly, why a vivarium? were you keeping something living in the land area ? if so that ad's another twist as snakheads will latch onto anything that hope into or even leans over the water to drink lol

Agreed. Snakeheads can travel over land (e.g. as pools dry up) as long as they stay wet, and in a small tank it probably WILL end up on the land at some point, maybe even to hunt whatever's living there.

the land area will be moist , fill up with moss ,humidifier on timer too , was thinking of black net suspended pond style and filling it up with creepers plants

READ! it's a bad idea, you want a vivarium get a frog or a crab, fish=aquarium, yes if it's moist enough the snakehead will survive on land for a while and you might find it in time, but it's not a good thing, you'll still have a very stressed out fish ,messed up slime coat, injuries, ect. and this will lead to a very unhealthy and eventually a dead fish.

plus your cutting back big time on the swimming space, and snakeheads need room to move, all and all as everyone has said this is a BAD idea, sorry but your gonna have to deal with that, if your not going to except the advice given why bother asking ?

I have several planted vivariums myself,99% of fish just arnt a good match for them , with a large enough "pool" area you might pul off some guppies or something like that but that's about it,

any pics of your vivarium and its inhabitant ?

I can try and remember to snap ta few pic's , I have small one's for White's tree frog's right now 2x2x2, i've had them as large as 10'x5' zoo like setups for an indoor turtle pond. guess the caimans cage would count but the plant life is now missing as i'm planing to upgrade him soon.

just stumble upon this set-up , looks good . TNM
