vodka treatment

can anyone give me there opinion on vodka treatment for aid in nitates and phosphates. ie correcting sand bed algae issues?

ive never done it but its supposed to work. the only problem is you can screw it up easy, as i think theres a strict schedule to follow.

I have worked with a few people who did this and had no significant results your better off doing a 5% water change every week and get good flow then dose vodka which can kill if overdosed.
