I may be getting old here, and have memory loss....... BUT,

I swear when I was younger I would go the LFSs and see Black Volitans and Red Volitans. Black like a Zebra. Red like a candy cane. NOW was I imagining this? All I have seen for the last 4 years or so are BROWN Volitans that are labeled "Red" or "Black"......

What gives?

greedy shop owners over charging for sub-par fish?

Is that what it is? You know what I'm talking about then?

I have not seen ANY NON BROWN Volitans in.... I swear it's been almost 5 years.

i've seen "black volitans" that could have been called reds.. i seriously think it's just people capitalizing on fads

Well this fad of poop colored Volitans sucks.....

Got any ideas on a reputable place a guy could get some Volitans of a not so dookie shade?

not in iowa...

what (used to anyways) be called a black volitans

Its so nice to hear someone else say the same thing. Ive been looking for a black volitan and even in the same lfs they will have a tank with light brown volitans labeled red and another tank of BROWN volitans labeled black. And then when you ask them whats the difference they say black volitans arent actually black... just darker. MAkes no sense cuz i deffinitely had one that almost seemed monochromatic, almost no red at all and the webbing between its fins was pich black.

take a look at this one... now that would be awesome
