You guys were so helpful with my ehiem problem I figured I'd get your thoughts on my Vortex xL. I was using the filter to take water from my 55 gallon tank to (floor) amd put it in my 75 gallon tank (stand). After a while it stopped pumping and I just heard a quiet whirring sound, not the motor churnings, as I usually does. In any event it stopped pumping. I didn't smell any burning so I don't think I burned the motor out. Will this problem likely correct itself if I keep it off for a day or two or do I need to send it in for a repair. It is only four months old.

What I did is put the intaake hose on the tank on the floor and the outtake hose on the tank on the stand an suddenly it stopped pumping. I then tried it the convential way in the new tank and it wouldn't pump, but it sound like it was trying. Ithen cleaned it thinking that could be the problem but now the motor just hums and nothing happens.
