Vortex XL Diatom Filter

Hello, I just bought one of these on craigslist. The motor seems to run fine but I can't get suction going. Does anyone have any tips? Thanks.

I have no idea. Back in the 70's these were state of the art filtration. I didn't know they still made them. Good luck!
