when i first got my 55gal i was tryin to DIY a w/d filter for it. i had the 10gal tank and housings for bioballs. i was just uncertain about the intake part of the w/d filter. my mom wasnt really supportive of spending 100-150$ for the pump and pre-made overflow when i could spend the same amount for a canister filter that i knew was goin to work. so i now have a xp3 which im not complaining about. i was just wondering if there was anyway to DIY an intake tube of some sort that work work the same as a pre-made overflow. and would there be any way to gauge the flowrate on it? i was thinkin about a pvc pipe design but im not sure. thanks

It should be embarrassing to have a :newbie: point that one out to you .
