W/D Needs Mechanics!!!!!

Ny to Fl and Back Again
MFK please help I'm going nuts:nilly: :nilly: :nilly: I took the felt out of my wet dry and my water wont stay clear at all. I am still kinda new to this W/D world but when I had the felt in it was clear but it clogs so fast I cant keep up. Does anyone know of anything thats close but wont clog that fast. I hate cleaning my filter but my W/C's are clockwork. If there is a material that can do the trick someone please let me know. I have alot of mattala in there now. If not i will have to break down and start cutting the felt again:irked:
 
Have you tried polyester quilt batting?
 
Are you using a pre-filter? A filter on top of the felt to catch the big stuff.

If not, try a layer of poly-fil where the water enters the filter.

Anything that would replace the felts filtering capacity would have to be changed just as often.

I really appreciate the help and I will definitely be ordering. I just wanted to make sure that I am going about this W/D the right way. When I bought it and didnt have any help except a friend that helped with the plumbing and the questions I asked at the LFS. I took some pics to show my setup and to find out if this is generally the correct way to have my sump and filters. Please feel free to let me know if I am doing anything wrong.:confused:
Oh yea I used to put the felt in after 2 pieces of mattala and then after each one.
