Man the best thing would be to get some sweet wall mount racks... and then get a piece of wood to go on the wall mounts... then the tank on the wood.. voila! a cheap and sick lookin stand, my 55G tank is wallmounted, its my HDTV plasma!

hard to tell in this photo but, its on the wall... the wall mounts, i used 3, and each one supposedly holds 450 lbs... so thats 1350 in total it can hold. this tank has been on the wall for about 5 yrs too!

:headbang2

but honestly.
i made this thread for a friend looking for a stand.
apparently all i can find are 60 gallon stands.

like right now...
theres a used wood 60 gallon stand with 2 cabinet doors for like $40 at my lfs.

but he really wants a 40 gallon stand... bcuz lack of space.

i'll definitely think about that wall mounting thing.
:D nice idea man.

yea it works good, and people always tweak when they see it in my room... theyre like u sure that the tank wont fall? But yea, if he wants to save space, nothing saves more space then wall mounting! HA

theres one trick about doing this... when u have the tank on the wall, make sure u cut like a 3" hole in the wall behind the tank, and then have ur filter in this closet the hole leads to.. saves even more space!!

geez.

c'mon guys.

i know you have stands and tanks lying around everywhere!!!!

:naughty: just let me buy 1 of those 40 gallon stands~
